Though An Aesthete's Lament has gone silent—am uncertain if this is a complete cessation or merely what a friend calls "a productive hiatus"—I felt I must come back for just a moment.
Some time ago the magazine Canadian House & Home kindly asked me to present a list, with comments, of 10 rooms that set my heart racing. I don't know if you've seen the slideshow but do visit the magazine's website if you have a moment.

Your absence is forgotten, Teachers always need sabbaticals away from the acolytes, but your voice is needed NOW more than ever in these dark days.
Little Augury your SOUL SISTER has had a heavy burden, but now her twin is back in the room...SHUSH, everyone listen and learn!!!!
Thank you for the visit.
What a nice surprise. Clicking over now.
Be still my heart....
I'm thrilled to hear that you will make cameo appearances....
A delightful morning surprise, welcome back...if only for a moment. Off to visit Canada...
Oh you are missed so much!
Saw your blog title with an entry
and just had to read it for myself.
Welcome,
BarbaraG
Just be unpredictable.
see, we can not do without YOU, your soul sista, I have often thought of YOU and HOBAC as my cosmic blogging parents (though I think you may be somewhat younger in the real world-but who wants to live there all the time)
Keeping up with posts can be overwhelming. Don't leave us, just cut back to something manageable! You are desperately needed in a world drowning in mediocrity.
An email with a post from you in my inbox was the best one I have gotten in weeks! Will go click over...thanks for the teaser.
Wonderful to see you in my Inbox today and I'm heading over to see your picks!! All best. Barbara
Ooh, my heart did pound to see your name in my inbox. Thank you for resurfacing, however briefly.
A lovely norsel. (As a board-game playing Aesthete you'll appreciate this word. Made up by my lawyer father-in-law at the scrabble table. Swore it was the meaning of a small morsel.) We'll gladly chomp on whatever bones you throw our way.
Always good to hear from you...such a nice surprise!
I am going crazy. I want to refer to previous posts and they've all vanished. Bring them back!
Where else can I find interesting new perspectives on Bunny Mellon, Deeda Blair, and Pauline de Rothschild?
What a nice surprise¡¡
Just think we all need you.
Your advice, your good taste, your company.
Congratulations
A lovely treat, Aesthete - Thank you!!

Yes, there's no need to define terms re your absence--cessation VS caesura--since one word would only make us sad all over again, and the other would just put the pressure back on you. All that matters is that, even if it's only for a moment, we're all together again. Leave it at that.
I love the rooms, four of them new to me. Who knew that orchid could look so good?
Please do not leave again. Nothing stimulates my mind for further investigation as your posts do. Welcome back. Mary
Hey!
Glad I keep you on my blog roll!
xo xo
I am glad you are back, I missed you.
Regards,
Albert de Castro
& what a return!
AAL, Thanks for the visit. I have been missing you. I love the diversity of these rooms. Who else would include a log cabin of sorts? Did I read that you will still be cooking?
Thank you for reappearing. Your blogs, whenever they appear, will command my full attention.
A most welcome suprise appearance! One of my most favorite house visits was to the Noailles home in Fontainebleau, but I have never seen this jewel box room. Many thanks.
...my heart leaps up...
delighted to catch even a glimpse; don't be long gone, again?
that said, any norsel (how perfect a word!) from you is the sweetest...
Well there you go! Or there you came back, dear Aesthete. No pressure.. just when you feel like it. Notice that nobody took you down from their blog recommendations! I adored the slideshow.
Oh joy and rapture to see a post from you, dear Aesthete!
I love the Blair's Palm Beach loggia. Come back soon. ;)
So glad to see your post and the slideshow was excellent.

An Aesthete's Lament has a permanent place on my blog roll. I am so very glad to see you back, even if it is brief...I look forward to more!
yes, the slideshow was the stuff of dreams...
Hi! What a lovely surprise.... Hope you are resting well. Thanks for the new post. We have missed you!
Wonderful to find that you are scribbling again. And your back-numbers are back too! Do please leave them up even if you decide to take another breather.
